The person behind the art
I’m Pia, a tattoo artist in Aarhus, and I’ve been tattooing since 2022. For me, a tattoo is about more than simply placing a design on the skin. It is about creating something personal that feels right for the person who will wear it. That is why my process always starts with listening, understanding your idea and finding a design that works for both you and your body.
I work calmly and thoroughly, with close attention to detail. My style ranges from realism and old school to fine line and black and grey, but everything I create is built around strong design, precise craftsmanship and taking the time needed to get the result just right. I want my studio to be a place where you feel heard, comfortable and in good hands throughout the entire process.
I’m Pia, and I’ve been a tattoo artist since 2022. I found my way into tattooing because I have always loved creating things with my hands and turning the many creative ideas in my head into something tangible that others can enjoy. The combination of drawing, shaping ideas and working with my hands was what first drew me to tattooing. Today, I get to make a living from it, and I still feel incredibly fortunate that something I love doing has become my profession.
Tattooing has given me the opportunity to experience a lot. I have travelled around the world and worked in different studios abroad, met other tattoo artists and seen how differently the craft can be approached. It has helped me grow professionally and given me plenty of inspiration along the way. One of the things I love most about tattooing is that you never stop learning. There are always new people, techniques, ideas and ways of looking at things.
For me, a tattoo is not simply about placing a beautiful design on someone’s skin. It starts with the person who is going to wear it. I’m very much a people person, and a big part of what I love about my work is getting to meet so many different people. I enjoy the conversations during a session, hearing people’s stories and getting to know a little about the person sitting in front of me. Some people arrive with a fully formed idea, while others bring a single image, a feeling or something they have been thinking about for a long time. Both are equally welcome.
“I don’t rush the process. I take the time it needs, because it’s the details that make the difference.”
My style is broad, and I enjoy the variety. I work with styles including realism, old school, fine line and black and grey, and I enjoy both small, detailed tattoos and larger projects where we can really build something together. What all my work has in common is a strong focus on craftsmanship. I take the time needed with the drawing, placement and small details, and I find it difficult to settle for “good enough” when I can see that something can be made better.
It is important to me that you have a good experience. There can be conversation, laughter, stories and questions throughout the session — and there can also be quiet if that is what you prefer. I meet many different people through my work, and to me there is no right or wrong way to be a client. What matters most is that you feel comfortable and in good hands throughout the process.
Ultimately, that is probably what I enjoy most about tattooing. I get to combine creativity and craftsmanship while meeting new and interesting people every day. I get to bring ideas to life, work with my hands, immerse myself in the details and meet people I otherwise would never have crossed paths with. It is difficult for me to imagine a profession that would suit who I am and what I want to do much better.

I therefore take the time to talk through each project. I want to understand what you have in mind, why the design matters to you and how we can make the idea work best on your body. You do not need to have all the answers when you arrive. Part of my job is helping shape the idea, asking the right questions and working towards a design that feels right for you.
